Producers Stratergies

Different producers for different bands would use these stratergies to get their band on the top spot. As Top of The Pops grew more popular in the 1970's most bands who got to number one at the time would be played on top of the pops. Most bands who had number one would probably be on tour when the video was being filmed so what they would do is they would film ta music video of them playing to the crows and this would be recorded so whilst the band are on tour. This will still promote their song even though they are on tour. In the modern day however Top of The Pops is non existent so producers use mechanisms like youtube to release their video's and some bands even make their music videos through online methods. Videos have become much more interactive and this helps the people recognise the video. Bands like Arcade Fire and The Cold War Kids have been using the internet to their advantage. With Arcade Fire you can go on this website and when you click to play the music video you can click on something and this thing will do something like move or rotate etc, also on the Cold War Kids video you can press a band member to make them play their instruments or sing or something like that. Producers see this new technology as a complete vantage point to music videos and we will probably see these videos pop up more in the future.
